Volunteer: Junior Crew (Middle School)-Children and Youth Programs


Volunteers are needed on Tuesday through Thursday evenings to help with The Stewpot's Junior Crew (middle school students)! This is a wonderful service opportunity for volunteers 18 years and older.

DETAILS:

Students are currently seeking assistance with: writing, math (i.e. algebra, calculus) or hard sciences (i.e. chemistry, physics…etc.).
Homework time may fluctuate depending on the events scheduled for that given day. Your flexibility is greatly appreciated!
Volunteers may be asked to assist with projects at hand before homework time.
Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate clothing (i.e. nothing revealing, too short, or ill-fitting clothes). We take the dress code very seriously. If you are not dressed appropriately, you will be asked to leave.

STEPS TO APPLY:Volunteers must complete a background check and Child Safety Video/Quiz (scoring a passing grade) before volunteering. Please email Volunteer@thestewpot.org to receive the background check authorization link. Background checks and the child safety training must be completed by 8am the Monday before your volunteer shift. If that Monday is a holiday observed by The Stewpot then everything should be complete by the preceding Friday.

Parking information: Come through the main front gate and drive around to the back of the church. We are in building C. There is a parking lot where you can park at the back. The building has a bell you can ring, in case it is locked.
Any big items, back packs, etc, should be left in your vehicle or at home.

Volunteer: Kids Club (Elementary Aged Students)-Children and Youth Programs

Volunteers are needed every Tuesday through Thursday for our Kids Club program! This is a fantastic service opportunity for individuals aged 14 and older.

You'll have the chance to engage with students while supporting teachers in the classrooms. Volunteers also help keep students focused and ensure their supervision and safety. Clean-up tasks may include wiping down tables and light sweeping.

Volunteers are required to wear appropriate clothing, meaning nothing revealing, too short, or ill-fitting. We take the dress code very seriously, and if you are not dressed appropriately, you will be asked to leave.

Please Note:

Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older in order to begin participating with Kids Club. Volunteers 18 years or older, must complete a background check and Child Safety Video/Quiz (scoring a passing grade) before volunteering. Please email Volunteer@thestewpot.org to receive the background check authorization link. Background checks and the child safety training must be completed by 8am the Monday before your volunteer shift. If that Monday is a holiday observed by The Stewpot then everything should be complete by the preceding Friday.

Parking information: When you arrive at 7300 Bruton, please drive all the way through the main front gate and continue to the back of the church. We are located in Building C, which has a parking lot where you can park (see the picture below). The building has a doorbell to ring if the door is locked. Please ensure that any large items, backpacks, or similar belongings are kept out of sight in your vehicle or left at home.
